Dr. Adam Blanchard
Chiropractor, Acupuncture Provider
My passion for helping people started from a young age as I was growing up in Irishtown-Summerside, a small town in Newfoundland and Labrador. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” were the words I would repeatedly contemplate. These words helped drive me towards health care, but I wasn’t always set on chiropractic until my second year of university.
The long hours of studying during university started to become paired with neck pain and headaches. I remember feeling a little helpless at one point and I didn’t know what to do. This led me to dive head-first into anatomy and physiology courses in university so that I could fully understand the human body and how it worked. Then, after finding relief for tension and sports injuries through chiropractic, I was excited to help people like myself who might be struggling and not know what to do about it.
After 4 years in Toronto pursuing my chiropractic education, I was lucky enough to not only leave with my diploma, but I with my girlfriend who was born and raised in the Kawartha. This beautiful region kept drawing us back as often as we were able to visit so I am so excited to be able to call Peterborough and Thrive Health Ptbo home.
While I love my career, work-life balance is really important to me and I love all things outdoors. During the winter you can catch me riding my snowmobile or snowboard. During the summer one of my biggest passions is fly fishing. I can thank my twin brother back in Newfoundland for this passion as it is something that he taught me from a young age and we love to do together. Sport has been part of my life from a young age, from playing hockey, volleyball, golf and soccer to being involved on the athletic training staff. I have been fortunate to be able to continue this passion working with various Trent university sports teams providing medical coverage as an on field therapist.
