Shelby Forbes

Patient Experience Coordinator

You could say that my interest in the health industry started at a very young age. While other kids were watching cartoons and dramas I was watching medical TV shows. My interest in health led me to complete a 1-year certificate in Behavioural Science, a Hospital Ward Clerk certificate as well as my diploma in Medical Administration at Durham College.

I come from a very large blended family with 2 sisters and 5 brothers and grew up in Bellville and Prince Edward County. Growing up in a big family has given me the ability to thrive in busy environments. Working at Thrive Health Ptbo feels familiar because of the warm and family-friendly nature of the clinic. I’m excited to be a part of this team and to help make your experience with Thrive Health Ptbo wonderful at every step of the way.

I moved to Peterborough 5-years ago and I enjoy making my way downtown for the many local markets and festivals. You can often find me walking my dog, Vaeda, around the Trent trails or at Jackson’s Park. I’m an avid reader and am happy to exchange book recommendations! I also enjoy thrift shopping, road trips and volunteering for dog rescues.

If I was a Disney character, I would be…

Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I’m jealous of her library and talking furniture.

If I could have dinner with 1 person dead or alive who would it be and why?

The answer is easy. It would be my Dad. He passed away when I was 16.

My favourite season is…

Fall – why is it so short?!

What is your superhuman talent?

If you tell me your birthday, 9 times out of 10 I will remember it for the rest of my life.

What’s on your bucket list?

I want to see the world, travel, experience new things and give back.

Something everyone does not know about you?

I love to rollerblade. You might even catch me rollerblading to the clinic if gas prices keep going up!

Something on your bucket list.

I would love to travel to Greece! And I’m planning on crossing it off my bucket list sometime in the next few years 🙂
